On July 13, people of Huntington gathered at Depot Road, which has closed down for the street festival in celebration of the Huntington Station community. Our Mahanaim Study Tour students from Gwangju Lincoln House School were invited to perform cultural dances there.
Starting with a fun dance called, Righteous Stars, the students sent their smiles to all the audiences and that brought a lot of people together.
As many watched and saw the passionate movements of the dances and the bright smiles of the Lincoln students, they were moved and opened their hearts to find out more about Mahanaim. Those that already knew us were many and some heard about us for the first time, but we hope to continue reaching out to the people of Huntington, bringing them joy and hope through the music, dances, and different programs that Mahanaim offers.
Between the dances, a big event hosted by Mahanaim was introduced, called the IYF World Camp, which will be from August 19th through the 22nd. Many people stopped by our booth, gave a positive reaction and signed up for more info.
Many could feel how diverse the community was, especially seeing the cultural performances of our students. They also walked through the street in their colorful, cultural clothing where many community groups from different backgrounds, at their tables were amazed and were happy with us.
