Program Overview
Mahanaim English aims to provide fluency in English comprehension, reading, writing, and speech communication to nonnative speakers through an innovative, challenging, and engaging curriculum. Prospective students may come to Mahanaim for various reasons, but one thing is for sure: In this era of globalization, a firm grasp on English is becoming even more critical. Mahanaim has recognized this ever-growing need. Students are provided with intensive instruction, practical language usage experience, and teachers that understand their specific needs as a new English speaker.

Program Description
Mahanaim English is an intensive 35-hour per week program where students attend six Mahanaim English courses daily, as well as an English Bible study each morning. Classes are very small with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 15 students, so that students may receive enough individual attention.

There are three levels of instruction: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The level of instruction the student enrolls in will be determined by his/her CELSA score. When the students apply to Mahanaim English, they will take an ESL placement test. The score range for Mahanaim English Beginner is 0-29. The score range for Mahanaim English Intermediate is 30-49. The score range for Mahanaim English Advanced is 50-69. Students begin coursework at the level they test into, and are exempt from all classes at previous levels. Each level typically takes one term to complete, and each term (both Fall and Spring) is 15 instructional weeks long.

ESL Admissions Requirements
1. Completed Admissions Application Package (Please see Admissions for specific requirements)
2. CELSA test results (Note that there is no minimum score requirement for Mahanaim English Students. The CELSA score simply determines which program the student is able to enroll in.
