How does it work?
On the very first day of class, our students are given a placement test to determine their proper ESL level. There is no passing or failing grade, rather, the student's score simply determines the point in our ESL series (Cornerstone for elementary students, and Keystone for middle and high school students) where we will begin. At that time students will also meet their personal tutor and discuss short-term goals, long-term goals, class schedule, and homework assignments. Starting from day two and on, students will follow our regular schedule:
4:00 - 4:50 |
Personal Tutoring |
5:00 - 5:50 |
Personal Tutoring / Activity Time |
6:00 - 6:30 |
Dinner (Available for purchase) |
6:40 - 7:30 |
Integrated ESL Class |
Tutoring Session The first two hours of each day will be used for students to get individual help from qualified tutors with homework completion, test preparation, and any personal needs related to a student's success in school. If all assignments are completed, students have the chance to engage in fun learning activities with their teachers and other students.
Integrated ESL Session Students will accelerate academic vocabulary and develop transferable skills through reading, grammar, and writing exercises. They will take part in listening, speaking, and writing workshops to demonstrate their newly acquired English skills at the end of each unit. These skills are fully transferable to any and all school subjects they might take.
